The four cottages above were built in
1904 by Captain Charles McGregor on
a plot of land owned by him.

The houses were originally numbered 1
to 4 Meadowfields, being the first
properties to be constructed along the
road and were built to provide homes
as an investment, one for each of his
four daughters.

Number 4 Meadowfields, now known as McGregors Cottage
was transferred into the ownership of Captain McGregors
daughter, Helen by an indenture dated 16 January 1924.

The 'Master Mariner' as he was referred to wished to ensure the
security of his daughters future and transferred it into her name
using coincidentally the same solicitors who acted on behalf
of the current owners.
